Alwyn Vorster
Managing Director 

Mr Vorster commenced as Chief Executive Officer of BC Iron in May 2016 and was appointed as Managing Director in September 2016. He has more than 25 years' experience with numerous mining houses in technical and commercial management roles covering the total supply chain from mine to market for iron ore, coal and other minerals.

He has most recently been employed as Group Executive Mining at Australian Capital Equity, and other recent roles include Chief Executive Officer of API Management, the company responsible for developing the multi-billion dollar West Pilbara Project; and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Iron Ore Holdings Ltd.

Mr Vorster is an executive committee member of the Australia China Business Council, a non-executive director of Volt Resources Ltd, and a board member of the RSPCA WA.


Simon Hodge
Chief Financial Officer

Mr Hodge commenced as Chief Financial Officer on 1 February 2017. He has more than 25 years’ experience in senior executive, corporate advisory and equity research roles.

He was most recently engaged in a consulting capacity as Corporate and Commercial Advisor to BC Iron. Prior to joining BC Iron, Mr Hodge was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Quickflix limited, an ASX-listed company he co-founded. He has extensive finance, capital markets, corporate advisory and equity research experience having held senior positions in corporate advisory with Poynton and Partners and in equity research with JP Morgan (London) and a major Australian stockbroker.

Mr Hodge has a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours in Accounting and Finance) from University of Western Australia.


Rubini Ventouras
General Counsel and Company Secretary

Ms Rubini Ventouras commenced as General Counsel and Company Secretary on 1 February 2017. She has extensive legal and commercial experience involving exploration, project construction, HSE legislation, mining operations and marketing throughout Australia, NZ, Asia and Europe. 

Most recently, she held a senior role with Newmont Asia Pacific where she was Group Executive Legal Affairs.

She holds a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Murdoch University. She is admitted to practice law in Western Australia and the High Court of Australia and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ms Ventouras is a member of the Western Australia Museum Board of Trustees and a committee member of the WA Law Society Committee for Government and In House Lawyers.


Michael Klvac
Manager Corporate Affairs 

Michael Klvac is a professional in the mining and resources industry with a science and commerce academic background and 20 years’ experience in accounting, business analysis, risk management, business planning and corporate affairs. Michael has spent the majority of his career working for Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton where he held a variety of commercial management roles. Towards the end of his time with BHP Billiton, Michael moved into a projects role  focussed on securing regulatory approvals and government support for new projects.

In 2012, Michael was recruited by Iron Ore Holdings (IOH) to manage government relations, regulatory approvals and native title relationships associated with the companies projects and exploration targets. Following IOH’s takeover by BC Iron (BCI), Michael continued doing this work for BCI and also added Investor Relations accountabilities to his portfolio.

Throughout his career, Michael has obtained broad exposure to several commodities, including: iron ore, nickel, gold and uranium and has a comprehensive understanding of open pit, underground and logistics solutions required for these types of mining operations.

Rob Williams
Technical Services Manager

Rob Williams is a geologist having graduated from Curtin University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science. From 1992, he worked for Dominion Mining Limited, at that time, the biggest gold producer in Australia. He then moved onto work with Newcrest at the Ora Banda operation from 1994 to 1996 before heading overseas to work in Kazakhstan and then Indonesia in project and exploration capacities.

Rob returned to Australia in 1997 and re-joined Newcrest in a production role at Telfer. He worked for LionOre 2002 to 2006 at Thunderbox Gold operation. He then moved onto work with ResEval who was later bought out by Runge Ltd where he carried out resource estimation work on a wide variety of deposits and commodities.

Rob joined BC Iron as Technical Services Manager at the start of 2012 and amongst other tasks is heading the beneficiation project of the lower grade Bonnie Creek CID material.
